The Ant and the Grasshopper

One bright summer day, a grasshopper was singing and dancing. He saw an ant carrying food.

“Why are you working so hard?” the grasshopper asked. “Come and enjoy with me!”

The ant replied, “I am storing food for the winter. You should do the same.”

But the grasshopper laughed and continued playing.

When winter came, the grasshopper had no food. He was cold and hungry. He went to the ant’s house and asked for food.

The kind ant gave him food but said, “Next time, you must work when it’s time to work.”

Moral:

Always be prepared. Hard work today helps tomorrow.
